A 20 pound cylinder will last about 20 hours running full time on the HIGH setting. This is a very good heater. Unless the space is quite large, you may not want to run it on HIGH so, lower settings will use gas at a slower rate. Remember too, the 20 pound cylinders at the super markets are not full. The motor will not be able to start or run at full speed, and it may overheat. This is because the 240V motor requires more power to start and run than a 120V motor. When the 240V motor is running on 120V, it is not getting enough power and this can cause problems. See also: Buddy Heater Not Working With 20 Lb Tank Can 240V appliances run on 110V?.

Dec 02, 2019 · The Mr. Heater fuel filter (part number F273699) is essentially an oil trap. Oily particulates are squeezed from the rubber of some hoses by the high pressure coming out of the propane bottle and can get pulled along with the flow of propane. These contaminants cand be deposited in the lines in the Mr. Heater Buddy heater, blocking any fuel flow..

Mar 03, 2015 · I connected my Big Buddy Heater to a 20lb propane tank and it takes a while before it will fire up and heat up. I know it takes some time for the gas from the propane tank to reach the Big Buddy heater, but does anybody know of a way to speed up this process? Problem is the pilot light will not light with the 20lb tank. If I hook up a 1lb to the non-hose side and have the 20lb hooked up, and get it lit and leave it on low for 2 minutes, then take the 1lb out, the heater will keep burning with the 20lb. Is this normal, or does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Like 1 REPORT ABUSE.

Dec 30, 2016 · I went with the 5Lb for the weight issue. The empty tank weight is almost the same for both the 11 lb’er and the 20lb’er. Yet the 5 lb’er tank is 12 lbs empty and 17 lbs full. This is less than the empty weight of a 20#tank. The 5lb’er will last me usually two weekends if not a bit more between refills. Charles Participant Posts: 1456.
